Every individual experiences a certain level of anxiety throughout their lives, and like depression the anxiety can remit but itself causing no more than temporary discomfort. However, in some instances, the anxiety is prolonged and intense causing a range of difficulties from phobias, to panic attacks to obsessive compulsive behaviors. Anxiety is chronic and exaggerated worry and tension. This disorder involves anticipated disaster, often worrying excessively about health, money, family or work. Sometimes, though just the thought of getting through the day brings on anxiety.
